The ETO – ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING OFFICER – STCW III/6 course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary for understanding and performance of duties of competent electrical engineering officers on ships . This is a key course for those who want to become officers on ships and take over responsibility for electrical equipment and systems on ships .
Content of the course
- Ship’s electrical engineering – 80 hours
- Ship’s automatization – 60 hours
- Ship’s mechanical engineering – 50 hours

Prerequisite
• Certificate of a completed Special training in order to acquire certificates of qualification for an electrical engineering officer (STCW III/6)
• High school education lasting at least 4 years and / or
• Undergraduate university study of electrotechnical directions
• Has at least 6 months of navigable services in the capacity of electrical engineering intern or of the ship’s electrician
• It satisfies prescribed health conditions
Passed programs of training (brevets ):
- D2 – Basic safety on the ship
- D12 –Fire extinguishing management
- D17 – Competence in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats
- D19 – Medical first aid
- D47A – Management , management crew and advancement of team work on the ship – working level
- D48 – prevention of marine environment pollution
- ETR – Brodski electrician STCW III/ 7 or Exercise diary
